Why Coaching Matters for Creative Entrepreneurs

“I’ll reach out again in a month or so, because you kinda ground me.”

This is a recent quick last sentence from one of my coaching clients. Wow, did this make my day!

It really expressed what I hope to achieve in my 1:1 coaching, to help creatives find that middle ground between their creative genius and the realities and practicalities of running and marketing their business.

I looked up what it means to be grounded and found some beautiful descriptions. This one from Roger Larson posted on Quora, spoke to me.

“..to be grounded means you are solid with who you are, you are sure of yourself, you have confidence in your decisions… you trust yourself.”

This one from Vicky Abrahams is also excellent, in terms of helping someone become grounded.

“If someone has helped ground someone it means that they have set that person on the right path in life. They have been an example of a good human being and have been a guiding influence in their life.”

I have my own coaches and mentors and realized that beyond the practical “how to do xyz” things I learn from them, I also have 1:1 calls that offer this experience of being grounded.

They are guides for me as a solopreneur, they show me a path forward, give me a safe place to explore new ideas, and encourage me to try things beyond my comfort zone.

I’d love to know who or what makes you feel grounded in your business journey?

Feel free to write to me, I’d love to hear from you.
