I've previously shared my shift to aligning business goals with natural seasons rather than traditional quarters. This approach feels more organic, and the spaciousness of seasonal planning versus rigid daily or weekly deadlines has proven remarkably effective for both my ventures—my eCommerce store and coaching practice.
During a reflective moment on my summer beach vacation with family, I gained clarity about this season's focus: learning and exploration. Throughout this year, I've been intentionally investing in guidance from teachers who bring fresh perspectives to my work. Through deep reflection and journaling, I gradually uncovered what drew me to these particular mentors and what I hoped to gain from their wisdom.
Unlike traditional business educators who focus on concrete skills like advertising, email marketing, or financial management, these teachers cultivate something more nuanced. They specialize in the subtle art of developing authentic voice and identity. Interestingly, they don't operate within eCommerce at all—their expertise spans life coaching, holistic wellness, creative writing, and artistic expression.
This realization crystallized the purpose of my current season: to deeply absorb these insights and weave them thoughtfully into my own perspective. What resonates most deeply about these mentors isn't their specific expertise or methodologies, but rather their ability to show up Authentically as Unique Thought Leaders.
Welcome to Summer: My Season of Guided Learning & Thought Leadership
Through these courses and teachers, I've found something precious: permission and clarity to step into being a Thought Leader in my own unique way.
But here's the thing - this isn't an overnight transformation. Finding your unique point of view (POV) requires creating a LOT of content and giving yourself space to explore. This season has been all about discovering not just my voice, but the perfect ways to share it. You know how it goes - even when we have something valuable to share, it's so easy to get stuck in our own heads. What I love about my teachers is how they each bring their own thoughtful approaches to helping me break through those blocks and actually do the work.
The transformative insight that has shaped my approach is this:
Create with Heart and Publish Imperfectly.
This has shown up in my work through:
Guest Podcasting: Something that used to terrify me but now feels natural
Instagram Presence: Showing up authentically through posts, stories, carousels, and reels to share my perspective
Market Research: Having real conversations with my ideal clients through thoughtful surveys
Blog Content Creation: Writing about whatever lights me up, across all kinds of topics
YouTube Channel Development: Taking that scary first step into video content
