Why I’m a Fan of Tiny Courses
Discover micro-learning revolution: Targeted online courses that deliver precise skills, save time, and maximize learning efficiency for entrepreneurs seeking practical, budget-friendly education without overwhelming content overload.
I don't know about you, but as a consumer of courses and online education resources, I'm just tired of the big courses that are trying to get me excited about over 800 hours of video, 30 checklists, plus 20 Canva bonus templates! (These are made-up numbers, of course, but you know what I mean. 🥺)
I love how Deanna Seymore frames it up perfectly in her audio training literally called “Stop Buying Courses”.
Usually, what I want and need is just 1 or 2 videos to learn a very specific skill. I want targeted, micro-knowledge that fills a gap I have in my skill set or something I want to go deeper on. I don’t need a $2k-$10k mega course that I don’t have time, money or energy to work through.
I don't want to:
a) Spend the money to get all the stuff I don't want
b) Even more importantly, spend the time looking for the answer/knowledge I'm looking for.
This is what course creators are taught is the "right" way to sell content to maximize their profit. That's fine for them… but I've decided in my business I want to offer what I want to see more of in the marketplace.
These are tiny courses, also known as mini-courses, or short-term teacher-supported containers with a very specific knowledge base and learning outcome.
I've taken these courses and am a huge fan of the model simply because it works for my learning style, my budget, and my available free time. I've gotten exactly what I needed and nothing more, and best of all, got the knowledge and forward momentum in my business that I was seeking.
Now I am creating the courses and resources that I wish were available to me as a eCommerce seller and marketer.
